The lowest setup price in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area is € 1200 and the annual fee is € 350.
The price is dependent on the size and municipality of the company, the pricelist (in Finnish only) is available on the web pages at ekokompassi.fi.
The price includes three personal meetings and training, ready-to-use tools, auditing and a certificate.
The price includes follow-up auditing every three years. Additionally, the annual fee includes a newsletter and an invitation to the annual network meeting, and you can always be in contact with your adviser.
EcoCompass is in use in ca. 60 organisations at more than 150 premises. The participants can be viewed on the EcoCompass web pages.
For now, the service is available in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and in Hyvinkää.
The service will also be extended to other regions in Finland; for example the EcoCompass event programme (2015 – 2017) makes this service available to all events nationwide.
The EcoCompass logo cannot be purchased. Only a company or an event which complies with the 10 EcoCompass criteria is allowed to use the logo. The external auditing party checks that the requirement criteria are fulfilled.

No, it does not. EcoCompass is customised together according to the activities and operations; the most important factor is the reductions and management of the environmental impacts ensuing from the activities in question.
Yes, it can. The harmful impacts on the environment are reduced and managed with the help of the environmental management system. The certificate expresses a commitment to continuous improvement.
With the help of the certificate, it is easy for you to make your environmental work visible. Additionally, you have an external expert at your service and current information to support your environmental work.
Organisations using an environmental management system have not only committed themselves to the criteria but also to continuous improvement. The annual planning and result monitoring are important factors.
EcoCompass, Green Office and environmental management systems compliant with the ISO 14001 standard are all environmental management systems.
The eco-label is a sign of fulfilling the criteria at the moment of granting the label. The party that has granted the label often encourages the label recipients to continuously improve by tightening the criteria. The Swan label, EU eco-label and Green Key are all eco-labels.
EcoCompass and Green Office focus on concrete measures and they provide ready-made tools for setting them up. EcoCompass is suitable for all fields of operations. Green Office is suitable for offices.
The ISO 14001 standard sets the focus on the development of processes and action models. The bodies set up the system themselves for their own use according to the standard.
The underlying forces of EcoCompass are the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen, as well as HSY, HSL and Helen.
The EcoCompass event programme (2015 – 2017) is coordinated by The Finnish Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
